Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) corrects brain-injury.

January 26, 2012 in Video

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is the signature wound of the Iraq War–yet the United States government itself is preventing access to the veterans from accessing HBOT–the most effective tool for correcting brain-injury, so strongly evidenced by this video. Attending physician is Dr. Paul Harch, MD of New Orleans. His web page is www.HBOT.com

Miracle In Progress (Week 1&2 HBOT)

March 10, 2011 in Video

This is a music video highlighting moments prior to, as well as the first two weeks of my son’s hyperbaric oxygen therapy used to help his cerebral palsy. Although numerous independent studies of HBOT have revealed tremendously positive results when used on patients suffering from CP, the FDA still has not approved the therapy for its use in patients with cerebral palsy. Without FDA approval, insurance wont cover a dime, forcing patients and their families to bear the burden of all costs. Its an absolute shame that this promising treatment cant be made available to everyone who desperately desires to receive it. This is my son’s first two weeks of treatment with hopefully many more to come. We are seeing very positive results and will continue to document his progress and his improvements with further treatments. Any and all donations towards Luke’s hyperbaric oxygen therapy will be gladly accepted at any Bank of America location. It’s tax deductible and all a person has to do is mention the “Luke Buckley Medical Fund” and the teller will do the rest. Or you can mail payment to the following address: Bank Of America-Luke Buckley Medical Fund 31565 State Route 20 Oak Harbor, WA 98277 Thank you and God bless. Special thanks go to Jim Wagner and Doug Pritchard of the Hyperbaric Healing Center in Port Orchard, Washington. You guys are awesome!!! Stay tuned for more updates.

Does Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) correct brain-injury? Part 1

August 12, 2010 in Video

www.balancedhealthtoday.com Does hyperbaric oxygen therapy improve the survival and quality of life in patients with traumatic brain injury? Traumatic brain injury is a major cause of death and disability. Not all damage to the brain occurs at the moment of injury; reduction of the blood flow and oxygen supply to the brain can occur afterwards and cause further secondary brain damage, which is itself an important cause of avoidable death and disability. In the early stages after injury it is therefore important that efforts are made to minimise secondary brain damage to provide the best chances of recovery. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has been proposed as a treatment for minimising secondary brain damage by improving the oxygen supply to the brain. Patients undergoing HBOT are placed inside a specially designed chamber in which 100% oxygen is delivered at a greater than normal atmospheric pressure. It is sometimes used as a treatment to increase the supply of oxygen to the injured brain, in an attempt to reduce the area of brain that will die. The effectiveness of HBOT on the recovery of brain-injured patients is uncertain. There is also concern regarding potential adverse effects of the therapy, including damage to the ears, sinuses and lungs from the effects of pressure, temporary worsening of short-sightedness, claustrophobia and oxygen poisoning.
