I have cerebral palsy, but it doesn’t stop me from participating in physical activity. For instance I’m in a standard PE class in high school. While things are difficult I still manage to compete. I’ve been looking for some leagues or organizations that I might be able to join but I can’t find any that are for ambulatory people. I’m eighteen and from New York if there’s anything anyone has found I’d greatly appreciate it if you could fill me in. I’ve found soccer teams, but soccer really isn’t my thing, I’m talking American Football or Basketball. I’ve been doing a lot of searches on google and can’t seem to find what I want as far as present leagues go. I’ve asked this question before and didn’t get much help, but I’m hoping for the best. Thanks in advance.

My son has ankle clonus that occurs only sometimes. It ranges from 4 to 20 beats when it does occur. I first noticed it when he was 3 weeks old. He also “quivers” sometimes, that just started about a week ago (have seen him do it 3 times now). My mom says that he is peeing when he does that quiver thing but I am freaked out. It doesn’t seem to be a seizure – he only shakes his head a little, it looks like he has a “chill”. Otherwise, he holds his head up well when he is being held and started smiling when he was 5 weeks. He is still working on getting his head up during tummy time. He pushes really hard with his legs sometimes and it seems like he is going to “jump” he pushes so hard. I know that ankle clonus can be a sign of cerebral palsy….anyone know how early cerebral palsy can be diagnosed? Or how long ankle clonus can persist normally in an infant?
