Adult life with cerebral palsy?

February 20, 2011 in Questions

5163785239 13ca7133c9 m Adult life with cerebral palsy?
I see articles everywhere about KIDS with cerebral palsy – never adults. I understand it’s a common childhood cognitive disorder, but it doesn’t just “go away”.

Well, my point – is adult life fairly normal for people with mild cerebral palsy? I’m 13 and I have relatively mild cerebral palsy (it’s very visible and only existent in my lower body, but I’m not wheelchair-bound and I don’t need any form of external support [except the occasional wall and railing ^^]). I just wanted to know if people had any difficulties coping with independence and adult life.

Are there any adults with CP (if you have a similar form of it that’s a big plus) willing to share their experiences?
Thanks for the info.

I am a young adult living with cerebral palsy. What can I expect to experience as I age?

4365430962 d6e08f2ac7 m I am a young adult living with cerebral palsy. What can I expect to experience as I age?
I am only 21 years old and I am experiencing a progressive loss of strength and mobility. Because my case is mild, I will admit to have been denying my condition. However, this has prooved foolish. I am disapointed in myself for what things have turned into. I know that I can turn this around, but how?
