January 12, 2012 in Video

An introduction to the work done at Ability Camp helping children with Cerebral Palsy to become more independent and to accomplish physical gains that no one thought would be possible. Children can learn to do so much more but it takes a great deal of hard work accompanied with the best training. In North America we have come to believe that the more hands on our children the more they are going to learn, however, children learn by doing things for themselves and when they come out of our programs parents are often surprised to hear their children say, “I can do it!”

Lynn Student Stephanie Hammerman Completes Marathon on a Hand-Cycle

January 11, 2012 in Video

Congratulations to Lynn senior (class of 2012), Stephanie Hammerman, who completed a 26.2 mile marathon on Dec. 4, 2011 in just over 4 hours and 30 minutes using a hand cycle! Stephanie, who lives by one motto: Failure is not an option, suffers from cerebral palsy. “If you told me about a year ago that I would be doing 26 miles in a hand cycle, I would probably laugh at you,” said Stephanie in a recent Sun Sentinel article. “But this is something that I decided I wanted to do and I worked for it.”
