Are Gerber Scoop Spoons good for child w/cerebral Palsy?

My friend has a son who is turning one next week. He can use certain spoons but she can’t afford to buy new spoons. ( Long story but she is a single mom). I had found Gerber’s Loop Spoons and wonder if they would help. They look easier for a disabled baby to hold and they are also coated on the scoop and handle portion. What would anyone with experience in illnesses such as this suggest for a child this age? I have her tons of plates, sipper cups, bpwls, and the spoons I had from my kids. Everything worked except the spoons. I had basic spoons since I didn’t have to search for certain items such as this. I just want to learn as much as I can and buy her the sppons that will help the most.

I have an adult brother who is mute, and is fascinated by computers. He is retarded, and has cerebral palsy.?

5164387864 1b15e93274 m I have an adult brother who is mute, and is fascinated by computers. He is retarded, and has cerebral palsy.?
He has an assistive device that allows him to press certain buttons to have the device play recorded questions and comments.

He hates it, because it rarely allows him to communicate his thoughts and needs beyond, “I’m hungry,” or other basic statements.

I have read the information on computers with touch screens, and some of the software, and found that helpful. We have access to teachers, and special education software for children to learn basic reading and math skills, but he has not shown any interest in those, because they do not allow him to communicate.

His present method of communication is self-learned. If he sees an ad on TV, he searches magazines for the same product ad, and presents the ad and his notebook and pen to someone who can write. Once the product is listed to his satisfaction, he waits until one of us can take him to purchase the item.

Still, this is not conversation, and we would like to know if anyone else has a solution.

My younger brother is crippled (cerebral palsy). What should I do for him to keep him happy & positive?

5163786765 7298998c10 m My younger brother is crippled (cerebral palsy). What should I do for him to keep him happy & positive?
He’s a smart boy, almost 4. He can’t talk yet but has a big vocabulary understanding. He makes no attempts to talk but will sometimes mimic the sounds of animals after pointing at them. He uses his hands good (but not great) and he can’t walk. He used to take 30-40 steps before losing balance when he was 2 years old… but now he can’t walk at all without hand-guidance.

He’s a quick thinker and responds faster than I do! Right now he glows with positive energy and is always in a happy mood. I hope he stays this positive his whole life! But I want to predict his future, and be ready and prepared for whatever troubles await him.

What I want most for Christopher is for him to keep his dignity and I want him to think highly of himself at all times. I want him to know that he is the man, that he can stand up for himself. I want him to be as self-confident and brilliant as Stephen Hawking. Because I can see that kind of energy in him, and I want him to keep that for the rest of his life.
